Watercolor Cotton Paper

Cotton Paper for watercolor - how important is it?

I have been painting with watercolor for many years. During that period I tried different kinds of paper.

On one of her trips to New York City my sister bought me a gift - cotton paper to draw on. This is how I stumbled on this exceptionally high quality cotton paper.

Garzapapel  of Garza Papel, S. L. Spain CE uses 100% recycled cotton paper. I use the 300 grams weight and I am exceptionally happy with the results.

I am able to use lots of layers of watercolor - wet on wet - and the paper will not bubble up on me and affords me the pleasure of just continuing to work.

Also, once the watercolor dries you are definitely able to see the texture of the watercolor come across beautifully.

If you are able to get this paper which comes pre-cut in many sizes I strongly recommend it. If you have any questions regarding this or would like any information just contact me.
